Consumer Product Safety Commission InformationThe new CPSIA is a law which takes effect February 10, 2009 establishing a new level of detection limits for lead in children's products to 600 ppm. This total lead limit again drops to 300 ppm after August 14, 2009. The CPSIA defines a children's product as a consumer product designed or intended primarily for children 12 years of age and younger. This could range from the standard toys and jewelry to hobby kits, games and clothing (to name a few).
